School policies
TUITION
Payments can be made in monthly, semester or annual increments. Monthly Tuition Payments are due the 1st of each calendar month. BCPA will only be accepting a Credit Card on file and your card will automatically be charged on the 1st of every month.
ETIQUETTE
Students and Parents/Guardians must uphold professional etiquette at all times or be subject to dismissal with no refund from BCPA. Any conduct that the BCPA Faculty determines to be inappropriate will be grounds for dismissal from the studio. We will not tolerate inappropriate conduct at anytime. It is CRITICAL to keep the energy high and positive inside and outside of our studio walls. Parents/guardians are not permitted inside the dance studios at any time.
“Please be responsible for the energy you bring into this space.”
CLASS PLACEMENT
Class placement is determined by BCPA Faculty alone and is based on age, maturity, and ability level. We will place students according to our professional determination of what is best for them and their growth. The director reserves the right to cancel any class that does not have sufficient enrollment.
ATTENDANCE
Good attendance is vital to the growth of each performer. Missed classes/rehearsals in preparation for any BCPA performance may result in participation being denied. Students who miss 10 or more minutes of class may be unable to participate without proper warm up from the instructor. Dropped Classes: You must notify BCPA at least 2 weeks prior to any dropped classes or you will be charged for those classes in the next month’s tuition payment.
PRIVATE LESSONS
Payment for private instruction must be paid at the time of the lesson, or in advance for a month of lessons. Payments not made at the time of the lesson will be subject to a late fee of $25. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to a cancellation fee, equal to the amount of your current rate for private instruction. The cancellation fee will be waived if the student is able to make up that missed lesson within the calendar week it was originally scheduled. Any lessons cancelled by an instructor, for any reason, will be credited to the student accordingly.
COMMUNICATION
We value the relationship between the BCPA faculty and our parents.
BCPA PERFORMANCES
Each student & parent/guardian will receive a contract that will include rehearsal schedule, performance schedule, costume fees (when applicable), rehearsal fees, and requirements before performing with BCPA. Our annual Winter Showcase takes place in December and our annual Spring Showcase takes place in June. Students will be expected to be present for all rehearsals and all shows in order to participate.
SPRING SHOWCASE
Performance classes will require a costume fee. Our costume orders must be placed early to ensure on time delivery. Late costume fee payments will be subject to late fees and may result in your child not being able to perform in the Showcase. Specified performance classes only will perform in the Showcase. Students must not miss more than 5 performance classes in preparation for the Spring Showcase, or they will not be permitted to perform.
